I don’t want a WordPress site. Or do I?

Some days I run my little elisp function to create a new markdown file for my Hugo blog and think, man, this would be so much easier with WordPress.

Let's try a new Wordland post without a title. I don't know what I'd use Wordland for, exactly, but I'm interested to see where it all goes. One thing for sure, I like the idea of not needing to use WordPress to use WordPress, if you know what I mean.

I try everything Dave does. Wordland, for example. (I can't seem to add links in the post for some reason. Clicking the link button does nothing. I'll need to look into that.)

Update: It appears to be a Safari problem. The toolbar works fine in Zen

I get email notifications several times a week that someone is trying to reset the password for jack.wordpress.com. Sorry, but I’m still here. I may not use it often, but it’s mine.

100-year hosting plan?

So WordPress now has a 100-year hosting plan? I’m skeptical, of course, but I love the idea.

What if I just used .org?

Wouldn’t it be neat if I could just pick a theme, pay for the premium features, and go?

Wouldn’t I find that less troublesome than spinning up a Digital Ocean instance and configuring everything?

Wouldn’t I prefer all the benefits of hosted WordPress like comments and stats and hosting and so on?

Maybe. If I can find a theme I don’t hate. WordPress theme designers need to calm the fuck down, IMO.

Almost forgot I even had this blog

Once in a while I get a hankerin’ to use WordPress for blogging. What usually happens is that I install it from scratch (again) on one VPS instance or another and spend the rest of the month looking for a decent theme.

Maybe posting here will quell that urge enough to save me the trouble.

How well does this theme work with title-less posts? We’re about to find out.
